可以回家了


用了几天来整理自己的情绪,到今天才可以专心的写这篇文章。
上个星期我才写说我在这里工作刚满一年了
想不到前几天就接到电话 说我可以回去怡保了
当时心情是复杂的
因为一直以为我可以走的机会渺茫
想不到当我以为我会继续留在这里留多一年的时候
竟然有了这样的安排

可以回去当然是开心
不过紧紧跟着的就是一份不舍的心情
发觉习惯是一件很恐怖的东西
当你习惯了一切,你就会很想维持现状, 不想去改变
但是当你开始明白时间不可能停留 生活还是得要继续下去
你就知道下一步要怎么走了

还有一个月的时间 让我好好准备自己
转入一个新的环境 重新适应 决定要过得更充实
我说我可以 就是可以

Cinnamon Rolls

I caught a cold again, sigh, started with a terrible sore throat, followed with non-stop sneezing and running nose. It becomes so serious that I'm forced to get myself one tablet of Clarinase. I usually don't like taking medication, unless in unbearable condition. However, this medication did really help me in reducing the symptoms of flu.

I have promised my sister to bake her cinnamon rolls this weekend. So with the help of Clarinase, I am still able to proceed with my baking task this weekend. Actually, I jotted down this recipe from AllRecipe some time ago, it's said to be clone of Cinnabon. I think it's worth trying since most of the reviewers gave a five-star rating.


The results? The rolls are awesome :) I could say this is the best cinnamon roll recipe I have tried so far. They were so gooey and soft, however they were a bit too sweet for my liking. I also omitted the cream cheese frosting in order to cut down the calorie. My sister gave it 95 marks, much more better than cinnamon rolls I baked previously. This recipe is definitely a keeper, will do it again next time :)

Green Tea Chiffon Cake


This can be considered the most successful chiffon cake I've ever made. Usually I don't have luck in baking chiffon cake, I've failed a couple of times (problems with my egg white I think). However, after few time of practise, hehe, finally I managed to get a perfect one.

Got this recipe from Florence's site. I've halved the ingredients to suit my 18cm pan. I also added some chocolate chips since I think green tea and chocolate chips make a good combination. The chiffon cake turned out to be soft and fluffy, with a hint of green tea aroma.

去年的今天


去年的今天,到今天还印象还是很深刻。 很“幸运”地被人派到来宜力工作, 那时候的我,连宜力在那里都不懂,只听说是一个很偏僻的地方。呵呵,现在想起来真的觉得很好笑。知道这个消息的时候,有点被吓到,不知所措的感觉。但是当时的我没有其他选择,多么不愿意还是得来这里。

现在想回去,来到这里也不妨是一件坏事。至少学到了不少,独立了不少。记得以前我还开着我那辆可爱的‘干蕉’,开长途的行程那时候对我来说还算是一个挑战,不过现在至少自己技术有进步了不少。所以说,来到这里的确真正地锻炼了我的驾车技术。

有时候改变是难免的,改变的确会让人成长,让人长智慧,这个我是猛点头赞成的,呵呵:)

事情都是一体两面,失去了一些,仔细留意或许得到的更多。

早餐蛋饼

今早小妹起来就开了米桶的网站给我看,说要吃这个蛋饼当早餐。我看下食谱,好像还蛮简单,就一口答应了。

食谱(摘自小小米桶
- 我只有做了2片的分量

面糊:
5 + 1/3 大匙 高筋面粉
1 + 1/2 大匙太白粉
150 ml 水

蛋糊:
2 颗鸡蛋
2 大匙水
少许盐

馅料:
热狗切块
乳酪片切片

做法很简单:
1。先将面糊的材料混合,待放10分钟。
2。预热锅,放少许油,然后倒一半的面糊。
3。等面糊半透明后,翻面,然后加蛋糊。
4。蛋糊半熟透的时候,可以加热狗和乳酪片了。
5。过后就可以卷起来了。


因为是第一次弄,我有点手忙脚乱,卷的时候也是乱来一番。所以那个成品都是丑丑的。不过,无可否认,这个真的很好吃,热狗,起司,还有蛋的配搭是一流的哦!

Sausage Cheese Roll

I browsed through Dailydelicious the other day, and learned a new bread shaping method. It looks quite interesting. So I tried it out using the other half of my Hokkaido Milk dough.

After separating the dough into small ball, roll the dough into oval shape. Put sausage and half slice of cheddar cheese on top. Then, cut the side of the dough into strips as above.


Fold up the strips alternating the right and left over the sausage.
Bake at preheated oven 180'C 10-15 minutes.


My roll isn't that perfect. I should practise my bread shaping skill more next time :)

Hokkaido Milk Loaf

On of my items on my to do list. I couldn't wait to try it yesterday. It's a popular bread recipe among online bread bakers. To make this bread more authentic, we have to use Hokkaido milk and Hokkaido flour for baking. However, since they are not easily available here, so I decided to use my sister's fernleaf milk and ordinary flour to substitute.

The orinal recipe is from Angie's site. I only made half portion of the original recipe and cut down the amount of sugar.

270g bread flour
30g cake flour
5g instant yeast
15g milk powder
30g sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/2 egg
125ml fresh milk
70g whipping cream

1. Add ingredients into bread machine accordingly. Set to 'dough' function. I let my bread machine to knead the dough for 30 minutes (by stop and restart the machine).
2. Take out the dough, cover with damp cloth and let it proof for about 1 hour or until double in size.
3. Take out dough and press out the gas produced. Divide the dough into 2 portion (I use 1 portion for making bun and the other 1 for bread loaf). Round up and let it rest for 10 minutes.
4. Roll out the dough and roll up like swiss roll, then put into loaf pan.
5. Let the dough proof for another 1 hour.
6. Brush with egg wash before baking.
7. Bake at 170'C for 40 minutes.

The bread turned out to be soft and fluffy. It has a 'milky' taste since milk was used in this recipe instead of water.

However, the bread is no longer that soft on the next day.

A bread machine, finally!

Hehe, own a bread machine finally!


After comparing prices from few shops, I decided to get the cheapest one, since I’m on tight budget. This bread machine has the basic function, where you can choose whether you want to bake a sweet, French or whole wheat loaf. Just add in the ingredients – flour, sugar, water, yeast etc., set it to the desired function, and let it run on its own.

However, this is not my main interest. What I’m concerned is the kneading function of the machine. You can select the ‘dough’ function, where the machine will stop after the kneading process. You will then need to take out the dough, shape it, allow rising a final time, and then baking conventionally. By doing this, you are able to shape your bread in various shapes or put in any kind of fillings. It sounds more fun, isn’t it? All this while, kneading is a tough process for me, I never manage to pass through that 'stretch' test, so hopefully, this machine can help me in kneading.

To try out my new machine, I don’t want to make thing complicated. So, I decided to make a loaf of bread, instead of shaping the dough myself. Got this ‘Honey Wholemeal Bread’ recipe from Jo's Deli & Bakery, ingredients are indeed simple (bread flour, whole wheat flour, water, honey and yeast). My bread loaf was ready in 3 hours 40 minutes.

The outcome? Just as reviews from fellow bloggers, bread baked using bread machine has a harder crust. However, the inner part is soft and fluffy. The bread should be finished as soon as possible, since the longer it’s kept, it will become harder.


I added in some chocolate chips, but I think it didn't make a good combination with the wholewheat bread.




The next time, I will try out the ‘dough’ function and shape the dough myself.

健康的烧烤会

趁着国庆日的假期,我们也来庆祝一番。就在朋友的家搞了一个烧烤会,招了一些朋友,准备了一些食物,真的很随意。


这是我的香蕉核桃葡萄干小蛋糕。近来对马芬有点抗拒,会比较喜欢cup cake的口感,所以就弄了这个。不过应该是香蕉不够熟透,所以吃的时候感觉不到香蕉的味道。



五颜六色的蔬菜,很健康吧?有黄瓜,萝卜,还有红色和黄色的甜椒。其实甜椒生吃很不错,至少会比较清甜,口感很好。



这些就是我们要烤的串烧啦。里头有培根,甜椒还有菇类。这样的组合不错吧?虽然烤了半天才熟,但是发现烤培根原来那么好吃的,呵呵。



这箩青菜又让我想起上次去金马仑我们买的菜,也是那么多。这些也是生吃的,想不到那么多的菜,我们还是很乖地把它解决掉了。


其实我们的烧烤还有美味的鸡翅膀,只是还没有拍照已经被吃进肚子了。或许下次应该来个普通的聚餐好了,因为烧烤会很考耐性,而且还要被逼做烧烤的烟熏Spa,哈哈,不过无可否认,那还是一个令人觉得轻松开心的聚会。
